About Me...

I am a Product Manager driven by data and analytics and internal and external stakeholder management. My strengths are not only in these but also in using measurable metrics to create actionable insights through business cases.

I aim to be creative but adaptable in needed circumstances. My approach to problem-solving is decisive, accurate, analytical and empathetic with a user focus.

In my free time...

I play guitar and have been playing for around 7 years now. I love music and a huge Beatles fan. However my favourite band is Oasis and closely follows with Nirvana, to name a few. I have been to many great gigs, and annoy close friends and family saying, "I’ve seen them live".

I play lots of football. I had played football for a local team Appleby Frodingham from Under 7's through to Under 18's, where the team disbanded and have been playing men's football since.

My favourite football team is Liverpool FC. My family and I are lucky to be a season ticket holder in the KOP stand, where I have been lucky to be at some incredible games.

Experience

In my current role I am a renewals advisor in motor insurance. Although my role and Product Management are quite different, I employ high level interpersonal skills, with honesty and integrity. Listening to each users pains and problems I can provide support, building an excellent rapport, I believe these all make me a great Product Manager.

Becoming a PM

In 2022- I began working as a Data Analyst at my previous sixth-form. My key takeaway from this role was that I loved reporting and ideating on actionable insights and data reports, with key stakeholders, preferring this much more then creating the data, affecting it was where I got my kicks.

I began researching to be a PM, then I began writing humble articles of my basic knowledge and new found learnings on Medium. I speak about this in the Blogs section.

I have the following cert’s with Pendo

I then enrolled with Kings College London on their Product Management Career Accelerator. Completing the following Projects.

Projects

Kings College London - The course had three assignments followed by an Employer Project with Sky.

Each assignment was submitted with a written Business Case encasing compelling story of my actionable insights, product features, etc and a presentation.

In each assignment hired as a PM for a fictional organisation FilmSlate.

FilmSlate is a niche movie streaming service focused on indie films, looking to expand its user base. Created by a group of film buffs starting a newsletter to share reviews and recommendations for indie films with like-minded fans.

The start-up’s focus was for acquiring new customers and retaining existing users. To achieve I was to improve: Option 1 - the sign up and onboarding process, or recapture the essence of the substack newsletter.

I chose option 2 for each assignment.

Here are the following business cases for Assignment 1 2 3.

Assignment 1: Presenting your product idea

Assignment 2: Demonstrating your MVP design

Assignment 3: Developing a GTM strategy

My Employer Project with Sky is currently ongoing, so stay tuned for the updates once completed.

Blogs

Here are my blogs on Medium, where I created an Adventures in Product Management’ series, where I wrote humble articles on a fictional pair of football boots to practice Agile Methodologies and Product Managament.
